About the Natchez-Adams School District

The Natchez-Adams School District is one of the largest school systems in the Miss-Lou, representing a unique blend of diverse students. The District serves over 3,000 students in 7 schools offering several specialized programs. NASD is divided into elementary, middle, early college, and high school learning communities. With more than 600 workers district-wide, NASD is one of the largest employers in the county.

The District's management team comprises a five-member Board of Education and a Superintendent. There are site-based teams in each of the 7 buildings. The District has several Booster Clubs and PTAs working to enhance student achievement and success. The graduation rate for the District exceeded the state, as well as the national graduation rates.

The District's elementary schools are Gilmer McLaurin Elementary School, Morgantown Elementary School, and Susie B. West Elementary School. The elementary program is strongly committed to child-centered education and serves approximately 1800 K-5th-grade students. Elementary class size averages are relatively small, with a student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 20:1.

Natchez Middle School educates nearly 700 students in grades 6-8. The core academic program at the middle school level is enhanced by multi-disciplinary teaching, several computer labs, and acceleration opportunities in mathematics and reading. Several music programs and sports teams exist for sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade students.

Natchez High School serves approximately 650 students in grades 9-12. The school offers AP English, Math, Science, and Social Studies courses. Natchez High also offers various elective classes: art, band, AFJROTC, general music, health, drug education, and physical and safety education. A full range of sports teams is also available for male and female athletes.

Natchez Early College Academy @ Co-Lin provides students with the skills necessary for career and college readiness through accelerated learning. Natchez Early College @ Co-Lin is one of the first early college high schools in the state of Mississippi. Students are selected through an application process to provide a nurturing environment for a diverse group of unique individuals who are motivated and committed to the challenge of earning a high school diploma and at least 31 transferable college credits. NEC has a 100% graduation rate. The school offers Robotics classes.

Fallin Career and Technology Center supports innovative CTE programs that prepare our students to succeed in their education and careers and poise them to flourish beyond high school. The program trains students for a career field where they will earn a living wage that offers advancement and lifelong learning opportunities.
