LSU hosts Morgantown Middle Schoolers for a Day

85 eighth grade students from Morgantown took an educational field trip to the campus of LSU as partial completion of their Mississippi Individual Success Plan. We began our tour with the LSU Student Union where students dined from various restaurants in the food court. Students then took a walking tour of the vast campus. They were able to visit the academic buildings and sit in a college classroom. They also visited the athletic arenas on campus. Students were awed by a visit with the LSU mascot, a live tiger! Our tour ended with an informational session regarding admissions requirements, student population, student/teacher ratio, class size, graduation rate and clubs and organizations available at LSU. They truly enjoyed this rare experience and have become even more motivated about attending a university as a post-secondary option.
