The Natchez-Adams School District has received confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in our football and soccer programs. There has also been an increase in positive cases and exposures in staff members. As a result, we will be moving from our current hybrid and virtual instruction model to an all-virtual model until after the Thanksgiving Break, November 12-November 24, 2020. During the closure of school buildings, the district will ensure deep cleaning and sanitizing of all areas.
The district received its shipment Chromebooks through the Mississippi Connects program. Individual schools will all have computer pick-up dates on Thursday, November 12, Friday, November 13, and Saturday, November 14. Parents will be notified when hotspots for students with internet connectivity challenges are available.
Please know that we are taking this action to protect our students, staff, and families' health and safety. We hope to be able to return to our regular learning model in the near future. This will depend on the status of COVID-19 in our district, community, and the guidance we receive from The Mississippi Department of Health. We ask that students and staff members wear masks, social distance, wash hands frequently, and follow state and CDC guidelines that address social gatherings. Following these procedures will be vital to a safe return on Monday, November 30, 2020.
If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child's school or email email@example.com. For updates, please visit the NASD Facebook page and our website www.natchezschools.org.
