Markaylan Isaac (11th grade)  will represent Natchez High School in the American Legion Girls State Program this summer on the campus of The University of Southern Mississippi.  The Summer program is from June 12-June 17, 2022. When Markaylan heard me talking about what the program entailed, she immediately asked for an application.  Girls State is a program that brings young ladies together for a week of leadership, patriotism and community enlightenment.  It provides a chance to learn about the government without using a textbook.  It also helps to prepare them for careers in politics, public service and other pathways that are similar.  "NHS Juniors are on the move!! I am expecting great things from Markaylan. This year has been awesome for the Class of 2023." said Iris Myles, Counselor. "Markaylan is a joy to be around. She brightens my day every day of the week."
