Students from McLaurin Elementary School Compete in BlueCross BlueShield's Annual Get Ready to Run Fun Run

On Saturday, February 2, 2019, students from McLaurin Elementary School competed in BlueCross BlueShield's annual Get Ready to Run fun run. The focus of the run was to promote healthy lifestyles and also take part in competing for a $2,000 grant. Our students trained for almost three weeks in order to be able to compete a difficult one mile run against 1,400 students from Central Mississippi.

We are proud of our student’s resilience, endurance, and dedication to take on the rigorous challenge presented to them. All students finished the race and received medals for their participation upon completion of the course. Some of our students stood out with remarkable running times amongst thousands in competition. Those particular students are Jerome Williamson, Jaylen Donald, and Jaidyn White.
