Dr. Bridgette Hill brings a Little Mardi Gras Along With a Few Goal Setting Tips to 8th Grade Girls at Morgantown Middle School

by Tony Fields
On January 15th you would have thought Morgantown Middle School was in the middle of Mardi Gras in New Orleans, LA. The Second Line was blaring from the speakers, beads were flying around the room, and all of the fun was being led by a lady small in stature underneath a Morgantown Middle School Mardi Gras umbrella. That lady was Dr. Bridgette Hill, a native of Natchez and a 1990 graduate of Natchez High School.

Dr. Hill is a graduate of Grambling State University and a member of Delta Sigma
Theta Sorority, Inc. In 1997, she enlisted in the United States Army and in 2006 she earned her Doctor of Sports Management and Sport Medicine degrees with a Concentration in Marketing. Currently, Dr. Hill runs her own small business called Interiors by Bridgette, a staging and interior decorating business.

Dr. Hill took time out of her schedule to visit Morgantown Middle School to speak to the 8th-grade girls about the importance of setting SMART goals. Dr. Hill emphasized to the students that she was once a pupil at

Morgantown and through her matriculation and achievements in the Natchez-Adams School District, she now has a Doctorate Degree. Dr. Hill stated that she found her love for writing right at Morgantown because of her favorite teacher Mrs. Barnes.
“Start now to set your goals and make sure they are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound,” said Dr. Hill. Dr. Hill said, “ I was 26 years old before I began to set goals for myself, but your path will be much easier than mine was if you start setting goals now.”
