Carleigh Sproulls Visits Mississippi State Capitol
By Tony Fields
Carleigh Sproulls, a junior at Natchez High School, had the opportunity to visit the Mississippi State Capitol in Jackson, MS. This visit was part of her experience with the Electric Cooperatives of Mississippi Youth Leadership Program sponsored by Southwest Mississippi Electric Power Association. This leadership program provides guidance in leadership and problem-solving skills as well as specifics on how electricity is generated and how it travels from power plants for usage.
Attendees were treated to a breakfast and other activities where they heard messages from Governor Phil Bryant and Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves. The highlights for Carleigh were being able to shadow District 36 Senator Albert Butler from Claiborne County and being introduced from the Senate floor by our own District 37 Senator Bob Dearing of Natchez. The next stop for Carleigh with this program in Washington D.C. this summer.
