Adrian Marshall heads to Washington DC for a week

submitted by Iris Myles, Counselor Natchez High School
Adrian Marshall, first alternate for the Southwest Mississippi Electric Youth Leadership Program, is going to Washington, DC to represent Natchez, Adams County and Natchez High School!!! The program helps students to develop confidence, stimulate interest in governmental affairs and inform them about their electric cooperative.  High school juniors who were selected will participate in a three day Youth Leadership Workshop in Jackson, MS.  The workshop focuses on developing leadership skills and helping participants hone in on their talents.  Adrian will leave for Jackson on March 2 and return on March 4.  The trip is an all expense paid opportunity that is sponsored by Southwest MS Electric.

Adrian will also spend a week in Washington, DC with students from other electric cooperatives.  This too is an all expense paid trip, that includes spending money! He will visit various museums, national landmarks, the capitol and attend an Orioles vs Nationals baseball game. The week is a fun-filled and educational experience of a lifetime.  "I am thankful to Deb McGee and Jeremy Smith for working so closely with NHS students.  I hope that Adrian enjoys the experience because he is definitely worthy and I am very proud of him."  -Iris Myles, Counselor and Liaison.
