Message from the Principal

Dear Morgantown Elementary Students and Families,

It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Principal of Morgantown Elementary School.  I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such persevering students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community.  Our theme this year is “Our Year to Level Up”. We are leveling up attendance, academics, and behavior.  My official start date at Morgantown was Tuesday July 5, and Dr. Steele and I are working hard this month to make for a smooth transition.

I have been dedicated to the field of education for eighteen years.  I have worked with students ranging in age from Pre- Kindergarten through 12th grade in a variety of roles. I have been a regular education teacher, a school counselor, response to intervention and testing coordinator as well as a middle school assistant principal.  Most recently, I have served as the assistant principal at Robert Lewis Magnet School.  I am thrilled to bring my skills as an educational leader to Morgantown Elementary School and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.

On a personal note, I am a proud wife, mother, and grandmother. I love Natchez and all this community offers. I am a proud product of the Natchez Adams School District; one that promises to nurture, engage, educate, inspire, and prepare students to learn and lead in a global society as confident, competent, and productive citizens.

I view education as a life-long process and expect that I will continue to learn much about the uniqueness of Morgantown this year and in the years to come.   Most importantly, I bring a belief that students are at the center of all school-related decisions.  I am excited to unite my experience, my openness to learn, and my student-centered approach to support our scholars.  Because the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students, I encourage you to become involved in every way possible.  I look forward to meeting you soon!

Sincerely,
Angela Reynolds
