Meet the Administration

Dear Natchez Middle School Families,

Welcome to a new school year!! My name is LaTanya Dunbar and it is my honor to introduce
myself as the administrative principal for Natchez Middle School. I have had the opportunity to
build relationships with many of you over the years during my time as an administrator at
Robert Lewis Magnet School.

It is my goal for Natchez Middle School to be an exciting, kind, and safe place for all our
students. I want you to know that I am fully committed to our school by ensuring that all students
are equipped with academic, social, and emotional skills to transition to high school as
confident and successful learners.

I encourage you to be actively involved in your child’s education. Students whose parents are
involved in their education are more likely to achieve at high levels . Together we can create a
school experience where your child can be inspired to excellence.

My door is always open to discuss any concerns, questions, or ideas you may have regarding
your child’s education.

In closing, I look forward to working with Natchez Middle School parents, students, community
and stakeholders.

Respectfully,

LaTanya Dunbar

Hi Team NASD!

It is an honor to be a part of team NASD and work in the capacity of Assistant Principal at Natchez Middle School. I have been employed as an educator for a number of years and love to help students reach their fullest potential. My educational background includes a B.A. degree from Southern University of Baton Rouge; M.A.T from Alcorn; and Ph.D from Jackson State University.
I firmly believe that all students can achieve academic success in their own way, when and if they are provided a quality education.
Go Bulldogs!!!!!!

Greetings!

It is my pleasure to serve you as Assistant Principal this school year!  I have several years of educational experience, which consists of several years as a teacher, college liaison, student services coordinator, and MTSS/Test coordinator.  My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Alcorn State University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Alcorn State University and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Delta State University.

I believe anyone can achieve great things with a positive attitude, a growth mindset, and good character.  I will strive to instill those qualities in our students and be a positive role model.  We are all here to learn together.  I aim to provide a supportive climate and culture at Natchez Middle School conducive to teaching and learning.  By doing so, each student and teacher can experience growth to their highest potential.

I am excited about this school year’s possibilities and proud to be a member of the NMS team.  Let’s have a great 2023-2024 school year.
